Buda Castle Host The Hungarian Wine Tasting Festival

Wine tasting festival is an event taken place in a particular cellar or a place, where wine experts gather together to taste and evaluate the wine. This can be done for old wines or new wines. These days the wine tasting methodology has changed from what it used to be in the 14th century. To evaluate the wine these days experts assess the aromas, the flavours and other characteristics. It would be amazing to become a wine taste wouldn’t it? When you travel always keep an extra bottle opener, you never know when you might need it.

There is a wine cellar that opens every day, well except Wednesday really in Budapest, Hungary. To evaluate you get to taste (drink) the wine and then give your opinion. You will also meet several other English speaking wine experts who will guide you through the wines and where the wines are made in Hungary. The cellar is located in Budapest Castle District within the Hilton Hotel and it is called the Faust. Inside the cellar not only you will be able to taste lovely wine but also be able to see historic Hungarian kitchen accessories.

I got to go to this wine cellar last week and I received two gift vouchers for me and my partner from UK’s wine tasting community. It was a present to us from them as we have been wine experts for over 15 years now. This was a great visit because we got to learn a lot about Hungarian wine. The knowledge was outstanding as there were many wine experts from different countries. Basically we learnt a lot.

This has to be one of the many underrated wine cellars around the World, and I believe every wine lover should visit the Faust. We are definitely planning to pay the Faust another visit and also hoping this time it would be more than 4 days as we want to see the other side of Budapest too.
