The health benefits of grapes

Grapes are grown in various regions across the world and are a popular fruit and are used to make grape juice and wine. As a fruit, you would expect them to be full of nutrients and this is a particular area that they excel in.

The benefits of eating grapes are almost endless, so the top 3 have been summarized below;

Helps to prevent heart disease – grapes are great at reducing the chance of blood clots due to the various nutrients they contain. They have also been proven to prevent LDL cholesterol from building up. This basically means that they can help to reduce the chance of a heart attack or stroke. The French Paradox gets its name because of the low numbers of heart disease in the country and this is largely attributed to the consumption of wine.

Reduces the risk of cancer: Grapes have a nutrient called resveratrol which is known to have strong anti-cancer properties. Various studies have shown that it can stop cancer from developing as well as progressing. Although it is yet unproven it is also beleived that grapes may contain nutrients that help to reduce tumors as well as stopping them from forming in the first place.

Prevents Alzheimers disease – Once again, resveratrol has been shown to prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimers. In fact, purple grape juice is beleive to be the best for this.

Aside from these, they are also known to be good for fighting against asthma and signs of ageing. You will get the benefits of them in varying levels depending on it you consume them as a fruit, wine or a glass of juice. Being so versatile there is every reason to eat more of them. The benefits of grapes make them far better than some sugary snacks.
